St. Louis Engagement Session of Christy and Kurt

Hey everybody!

Sometimes, I just feel really ON. When we pulled into St. Louis after a 5 1/2 hour drive, I was definitely itching to shoot in a new location, and let the creativity start flowing.

I met Christy when she was a bridesmaid in Hailey's wedding (Hailey knows how to pick 'em!) and I just adore her! Then... I found out that Kurt was a CHEF who just finished culinary school! Who do I like more? I don't know! Okay, that's neither here nor there. Bottom line, they were fabulous and we got some killer shots. Aaaaand we're off.

Janelle's Urban Belly Maternity Shoot

Remember our style on maternity? We call it Urban Belly and we're really proud of creating a style of maternity in which the mom is excited to show off her images, even to her preacher. ;) They show off mom's style, while still accentuating the belly.

Our latest Urban Belly maternity session was of our lovely 2009 bride, Janelle! Her adorable belly looks like she just stuck a basketball up under her dress - she's so cute! Have a look at my favorite images from the session.

Chelsey and Josh's Vintage Outdoor Wedding, part 2

Hey everybody!

Yesterday I shared my favorite 10 details from Chelsey and Josh's vintage Oklahoma wedding, and today I'm going to share my favorite moments. There were equal parts humor and sweetness throughout the day, and I'm glad I had my team (Lauren and Mere) with me to capture it all.

I love the lighting in this shot as Chelsey is getting dress with help from her mother.


The first meeting was really sweet. I decided to shoot from a different angle than I normally do, with a super wide 16mm (instead of my 85mm)



And, because I know y'all wanna see us on that merry-go-round... here I am, trying not to throw up. :)


How many bride and grooms can pull this off? The LIFT!!


I wore some purple suspenders to this wedding, but the ring bearer still totally out-classed me. What a CUTIE!!!


But I'm pretty sure the bride's father (one of the nicest men I've ever met) out-classed us all. Dapper!


I can't look at this image for too long or I get choked up. I mean it!


After the kiss, Josh carried Chelsey back up the aisle, to the delight of their guests (see the smiles on those faces?!)


After some messy cake eating came a messy kiss.


They were effortless on the dance floor.


More from emotional, sweet, wonderful dad...


But this moment got me even more. He brought up mom for a very sweet moment shared between the bride and her parents.


Okay, enough of the sappy... let's get happy! (oh, boy... that was bad)



Lauren got this KILLER shot as they were making their grand exit - OMG.

Chelsey and Josh's Vintage Outdoor Wedding, part 1

Hey everybody!

Alas, the wait is over! I've been super excited to share this vintage outdoor wedding with you. Chelsey married Josh at her parents' home in Roland, Oklahoma, and the setting could not have been more beautiful. Neither could her vintage wedding details!

I've picked my favorite 10 details from her wedding (kind of tough!)

I love lace dresses! Quelle romantique!


In addition to her Badgely Mischka shoes, Chelsey had some super cool shoes which she altered herself and made SUPER cool...



EVERY.CENTERPIECE.WAS.DIFFERENT!!! (click on the image below to see it nice and BIG!)


Lauren and I made Chelsey the first every Benny Bride t-shirt. Isn't it presh?!


How cool is this?! She converted an old door from her great-grandmother's house into a chalkboard with the wedding party.


There were so many cool places to do ring shots, but this one won out as my fave:


Meredith did some cool planning with Chelsey and one of their cool creations was this aisle (kudos to the florist too!)... I LOVE flower petal patterns down the aisle




More flowers...


She even had a schedule of events for her guests. Too cool.

Chelsey and Josh's Wedding Portraits!
