While Meredith, Ellie, and I were off to Italy, Lauren and Jessica were off to Wichita Falls, Texas, to photograph Katy and Jamie's wedding. They did an extraordinary job, and I was super excited to come home and look at all the wonderful images.

Van for Dan: Jamie Schultz' one and only workshop

Wedding WEEK is Here!!! Our Inspiration Board!

So, you've seen many of our details. What did you think? Meredith knew over a year ago that she wanted to have turquoise, red, and gold as our main wedding colors. She's worked so hard to find all the perfect little details to bring her vision to life. I've helped when I could (mostly just paying for things) but the creativity is due to my wife! (<--see that?!) Wedding WEEK is Here!!! Look at our invitation!

Hey everybody!

16 months ago, I proposed to Meredith. 16 months have come and gone, and now it is the week of our wedding!

SOMEBODY.PINCH.ME.

Each day this week I'm going to share a little detail from our wedding. These little bits are meant to not only tease you, but tide you over until we get back with eleventy-thousand images!

Today's post: Our Wedding Invitation!
Since we only sent out a handful of invitations, we had the $$ to go all out on them.

Enter: LETTERPRESS.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE LETTERPRESS. I love the feel of it in my fingers. I love it's rich history. I love the romantic subtleties it manifests. I knew that I wanted letterpress (yes, I'm a groom who has an opinion - it's been Meredith's curse - haha!)

A father of one of our absolutely wonderful and beautiful brides (Casey), Alan Sowers owns a working letterpress that is over a hundred years old. I love the history here! Meredith contacted him to see if he'd be willing to press our invitations (thankfully there weren't many) and he was so kind to let us use his services. It turned out beautifully!

Amy, our lovely friend and Sincerely Yours, brainstormed (more like hurricane, really) how we would package our perfect piece: Red box with gold calligraphy; open to a golden envelope (Mere added those flowers - a lovely touch); open envelope to the letterpress piece mounted on gold shimmery paper. Recipe for romantic invitation achieved!

Emily and David's Dallas Engagement Session

Hey everybody! Today is my 810th straight day of blogging! Holla!

One of the cool things about my job is that I get to see the world. Paris, Atlanta, Dallas,... traveling is such a fun experience for me. Recently I got to go to Dallas for an engagement session (I'll be shooting their wedding there later this year) and Emily and David took me to parts of Dallas that I never knew existed. I was in awe of how beautiful the city was, and I had been there lots and lots!

Emily is sweet as candy, and David is funny and smart. They made photographing them a breeeeeeze. It was super hard to narrow down my favorites, since they're all SO COLORFUL and lovely! Lemme show ya some!

Shoot This Not That: A super workshop!

Hey everybody!

I'm so extremely excited to announce that my friend Summer, the mastermind behind the insanely popular wedding blog, Grey Likes Weddings, is having a workshop for wedding photographers that is focused on getting your weddings PUBLISHED! Not only is she going to explain how to get your stuff published, she's going to talk about how to change your perspective to see images how editors see them. Which is why she's calling it "Shoot This Not That" - clever right?

Mallory and Daniel's Fayetteville Engagement Session!

Hey everybody! Today is my 806th straight day of blogging!

When we first started the shoot, I looked over at Mallory and she was just BEAMING! "Are you excited??" I asked. "YES!" She couldn't have said it fast enough. They made the 2.5 hour drive to Fayetteville for the session, so I'm sure she was ready to get shooting! So was I! I hadn't done an engagement session in months due to the off-season. Easily said, I was just as excited as she was.

Daniel, on the other hand, I don't think knew what to expect. However, I don't think I've ever had a guy warm up to shooting. He was having a blast in no time at all. Then HE started being the jokester, and the shoot went uphill fast.

We tried out a couple new locations, and I LOVE what came of it. The first shot, my FAVORITE, was of one of the new places:
